“I deliver and manage the organic side of our client packages and most of our e-commerce business. My role involves communicating with clients on delivery, strategy as well as managing my team and their workload.
“A brief breakdown of my role is about 50% delivery of technical work and signing off work and the other 50% is an account manager and account development. The account management element includes client meetings, calls, reviews and sit-downs with them about planning their wider strategy. The start of each month is very numbers-heavy and includes reporting on last month’s performance and sharing that with the client.”
“After leaving 6th form, I completed a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship within a small e-commerce company and I was then headhunted from an entry-level position at Infinity Nation. Infinity has been a great environment for fast learning. The team are great and really open and willing to teach. Within my career here at Infinity, I’ve had 2 promotions in 3 years. From here, I’m aiming for Head of SEO or a Head of Digital role.”
“I love the variety element in my job. No two days are ever the same and that’s what I like. It’s challenging, and every client is different and requires different attention. SEO is an ever-changing landscape and I enjoy learning and always trying to better myself AND the wonderful team!”.
“Educating clients and managing their expectations of SEO is 100% the hardest element. SEO is unknown by a lot of people, so you have to be straight talking and honest terms of problem/solution.”
“I really recommend gaining practical experience before starting a career in SEO. It’s great to have the qualifications but it’s so important to have put your knowledge into practice before going straight into a role. I’ve also been lucky enough to have a mentor here at Infinity Nation and I think that’s something that’s really helped me. This doesn’t have to be a manager but can be anyone in the business who you get on well with and can run ideas by.”
“Being thorough and organised is a massive part of SEO and like any service providing a role, it’s important to be personable and able to communicate. It also really helps to be creative as well as led and excited about analytical data.”
