It’s been over a year since we first started using video technology as part of our recruitment process. We have consciously put ourselves at the forefront of this development and invested heavily in our videoing capability.
Why have we committed to investing in video technology?
“Niche are one of our early adopters of the platform and have been probably one of the most successful companies we’ve seen when it comes to really embracing the technology to the benefit of their candidates and clients”- Josh, Head of Customer Success, Hinterview
We knew we wanted a more streamlined recruitment journey for both our candidates and our clients; video technology has been pivotal in helping us reach this goal. Our first placement as a result of video interviewing was confirmed in our first week and since then we have seen a notable and sustained increase in the number of placements as a result of video interviews.
Using video technology offers us a much more personal, one to one experience with both our candidates and clients. It allows for much warmer introductions and stronger relationships.
There is no question that video technology speeds up the recruitment process with an “average reduction in time to hire of 70% by shortening the interview process”. A lengthy recruitment journey isn’t enjoyable for candidates or clients: it’s expensive, frustrating and often means companies can miss out on top talent.
According to Business Insider, 75% of all hiring managers said that cultural fit is crucial in the hiring process. It’s practically impossible to gauge someone’s personality from a paper CV but with video, both ourselves and our clients get a clear sense of the candidate’s character from the get-go.
Did you know, video job ads get 4x the application rate as a standard job positioning? Video job descriptions differentiate you from the millions of messages candidates receive. It’s much easier to target candidates and grab their attention.
The initial feedback we have received from clients is astounding, with some opting for the video interviews to completely replace their typical first stage interviews.
It doesn’t stop here, Niche have already begun to explore the full capabilities of this exciting video technology. As part of our continued commitment to innovation, we launched a bespoke client portal in Summer 2019. It has allowed our clients to view candidate submissions in a single view, share comments with colleagues and share invaluable feedback to their Niche consultant, which has helped speed up the recruitment cycle.
It’s safe to say video interviewing has transformed the way we recruit, and we can’t wait to see where this video technology takes us next.
