Niche’s Helpful Guide to Asking The Right Questions At Your Next Interview.

We’ve all been there, the interview has gone well, you’ve nailed every question and you’re finally beginning to relax as the interview comes to an end. But before you can sigh a breath of relief and make your swift exit, the interviewer hits you with; “do you have any questions for us?”. Suddenly, all natural questions about the job are wiped from your brain and panic sets in as you utter, “No, I think everything has been covered”.

Many of us know this isn’t the response that employers are looking for, asking questions about the role at your interview, displays interest and an understanding of the job. However, it can be hard to think on your feet when you’re under pressure. So, here is a list of questions to keep in your back pocket, so you can finish your interview with a bang!

Keep in mind, some of these questions might not be relevant for your field or position, so pick the ones that feel most appropriate.

QUESTIONS:

Practical Questions:

  • Why are you looking to hire somebody into this role?
  • What are the key challenges of this role?
  • How will the training be delivered and structured?
  • What training will I be offered if I am successful?
  • Is there anything I could read up on before I start that would help me settle into the role easily?

We know it can be difficult to remember lists, especially under pressure, but having some role/company specific questions ready to ask will help you appear engaged and put you into the good books of your interviewer.
