71% of consumers expect companies to deliver personalised interactions, with 76% of them becoming frustrated when this doesnโt happen. So how does this translate to Recruitment?ย
One of our founding messages at Niche was that we wanted to be a recruitment agency with a difference. We all know the stereotypes about bad recruitment โ from spamming LinkedIn inboxes to pushing candidates towards ill-fitting roles to put bums on seats. Thereโs also a certain sense of distance between the run of the mill recruitment process and candidates, this is what Nick and Michelle wanted to change. At Niche, all these stereotypes conquered by our services by creating a personalised recruitment service for our clients directly to our candidates. So how do we do it?ย
Our candidates are much more than faceless CVS to us, and our clients are much more than the people who pay the bills! Our dedication and passion for our small business has meant we have formed long-term trusting relationships with clients and candidates alike. We have some candidates that have relied on us for every step up in their career! We love it when we make a successful placement, and itโs even more satisfying when they come back after a few years ready to take the next step up. We make a concerted effort to really get to know our candidates, from their skills and talents to what really makes them tick. Our client relationships are very important to us, we have extensive foundations of trust, rapport, and understanding. This means we rarely have clients that only use our services once or twice, we like to think that once you go Niche you never go back! ย
One of the best ways we personalise our recruitment process is by using video. We were early adopters of the video interview, long before it became more commonly seen over Covid. However, weโre not just setting up Teams calls, we utilise a bespoke video software that allows us to conduct interviews and send a shortlist of our best candidates to our clients along with their CVS. This allows clients to really get a feel for who the candidate is as a person, rather than having to construct an image in their heads from a flat CV. Using video also allows us to not become a โfaceless recruiterโ to our candidates, this builds on trust and really allows us to become champions of their career. Our video software portal allows clients to easily review their shortlist and move potential candidates through the hiring process, this not only provides them with stellar candidates, but also saves them the most valuable of currency โ time. You can read a little more on our video services here.ย
Unlike other recruitment processes, we donโt feel as if our job ends at a successful placement. We keep in touch with placed candidates well into their first year to ensure theyโre happy and thriving in their new role, this helps further develop our relationships with candidates! We donโt like to leave clients and candidates in the dark after an unsuccessful placement either. Despite our candidates being the best of the bunch, a role normally only needs one candidate, so talented people are inevitably going to be disappointed. However, we hate for the wind to be taken from their sails, and never give them a pat on the back with a โbetter luck next timeโ to get them out the door. We make a dedicated effort to stay in touch with all these candidates, matching them up with new roles as soon as they land on our desks. With descriptive feedback and advice on how to really stand out from the crowd next time, we make sure that even if they fall at the first hurdle, they can be back on their feet and end up fining the perfect role for them.ย
After a thorough job briefing with our clients, we tailor each of our job adverts to attract the best candidates in the sector using keyword research and our expertise in the areas. In the current market, itโs incredibly important for candidates to know salary, benefits, and company culture. These are essential touch points that we aim to hit in every job advert. We also have access to key word research and gender bias decoders, meaning you will attract the best candidates while not discouraging applicants through unconscious bias.
Personalisation is now the expected norm. Is your hiring process still lacking in it? Or are you a candidate tired of being reduced to a CV in an out-of-date applicant tracking system? Niche can help, get in touch today and say goodbye to impersonalised recruitment!ย
