Our CRM and Data Executive James is celebrating two years at Niche Recruitment

We’re over the moon to be celebrating James being with us for two-whole-years. Having spent the last year of his university studies working part time at Niche, James has now re-joined us on a full-time basis, with a first class honours degree in tow!

Spending a lot of time working on spreadsheets, the backend of the website and analysing data from various campaigns, it’s fair to say that James is the master of all things CRM & data and a very valued member of our team.

Humble Beginnings

After finishing his second year at Nottingham Trent University, James made the decision to defer his third year and take some time to get stuck into industry experience. After placing his CV online, he was contacted by our Niche director, Michelle about a temporary job they were recruiting for.

After meeting James, and interviewing him for the role, Michelle stated that she; ‘knew straight away that she wanted him to work for Niche Recruitment’. So planned to recruit James for the role he had originally interviewed for, on the condition that he would return to work for Niche once his temporary contract was completed.

Starting at Niche Recruitment in October 2021, James described how he instantly felt at home, explaining that; ‘They really invested in me and my development from the start, if I ever needed anything they were there to help me out’.

A Change in Direction

Starting at Niche as a Marketing Assistant, Co-directors Michelle and Nick, soon realised his strengths lied in data analytics and decided he would take a back seat from the creative aspects of his marketing role, to focus on what he loved, data.

‘I have always liked analysing data and making decisions based off of those findings. So this was a decision that I was pretty happy about’.

Just before he was packing his suitcase and heading back to his studies, James was offered the chance to remain working for Niche Recruitment as CRM Executive. He explained that, ‘I got this role three or four weeks before I left for University, so I am still learning more about what my new job role means, but it’s great and plays to my strengths in data and business improvements projects with our CRM tool’.

A testament to his character and drive, James jumped at the chance to continue working with us on a part-time basis, whilst continuing his university studies. Since returning James explained: ‘Being able to continue on with Niche in a part time capacity allowed me to stay on top of industry trends, continue working on business improvement project with our CRM tool and stay in touch with the team – and fund the occasional uni night out!’

When reflecting on his two years with Niche, James recalled his standout highlight as ‘Utilising my analytical skills to help drive and innovate our recruitment practices through development of our CRM. My aim is to use my skills to make the process as easy and enjoyable for recruiter, client, and candidate!’

Now a fully fledged graduate with 2 years of work experience with us under his belt, James is going from strength to strength and we can’t think of anyone we’d rather talk future CRM projects and data with!
