One Year at Niche
Tracy’s year at Niche Recruitment: Good laughs, great candidates and useful learning curves
If you’ve been reading our blog posts or following the Niche Recruitment socials for a while now, you’ll know that we love to shout about our team’s achievements. This week’s blog post, we wanted to dedicate to our Account Manager Tracy, who is celebrating her one-year anniversary working with us at Niche Recruitment!
This past year has been a year of growth for the company, from new clients to numerous fresh team members, there hasn’t been one quiet week. However, Tracy has been with us through all the change and has remained a vital part of the team.
Starting her journey here at Niche as Candidate Manager, it wasn’t long before she became Account Manager. With over 20 years of experience within the recruitment industry, Tracy embodies everything Niche Recruitment. From building personal relationships with clients, to approaching any challenge in an innovative way, we couldn’t be prouder of Tracy’s Niche journey.
A Time to reflect
As Tracy’s one year anniversary approached, she took some time to reflect on her journey at Niche, looking back at some of her favourite moments as well as her biggest learning curves.
Here at Niche, we aim to provide a personal approach to recruitment and there’s no denying that Tracy strongly represents this value. Recalling her favourite moments over the last year, Tracy described the joy that comes with offering a candidate a job role; “I’ve spoken to and gotten to know some fantastic people over the past year. Offering a candidate a job, it really is a life changing moment for them and it’s amazing to be a part of that”.
Working closely with clients as Account Manager, Tracy commented on the strong relationships she’s built with clients, explaining; “I’ve formed some amazing bonds with my lovely clients and that has resulted in me being successful in finding the best candidates for their roles”.
We all know that with time comes new learning opportunities and 2022 was no exception. Niche Recruitment Co-director Michelle Graham, comment on Tracy’s adaptability, explaining that; “When Tracy joined us, we were a small team and her role slightly changed and evolved over time. It showed just how brilliant she is at adapting”.
There’s no denying that Tracy is a team player, she’s the first to offer anyone a hand or to applaud you after your presentation. The office simply wouldn’t be the same without her.
Dealing with Challenges
2022 was a massive adjustment period for many of us, as we ventured out of the pandemic back into normality. Although some remained in pyjama bottoms working from home, many of us found our ties and railcards, beginning our commutes back to the office.
Tracy described how this shift back to pre-Covid ways has affected the job market and has created a fresh challenge for recruitment, explaining; “At the beginning of the year we saw a massive growth in hybrid and remote job roles. Now we are seeing things revert to how they were pre-Covid, jobs are back on-site. A lot of candidates now expect hybrid work, which is becoming increasingly rare, so there’s a challenge there”.
A Year of Niche
“It’s such a fun place to work, I’m always laughing! The team are such a great bunch and each person has their own unique skills set. Also the Directors, Nick and Michelle are so supportive and knowledgeable“.

With years of experience in the recruitment industry, a year with Niche Recruitment might not seem long. However, the company and team have undoubtedly made an impression on Tracy as she describes working at Niche; “It’s such a fun place to work, I’m always laughing! The team are such a great bunch and each person has their own unique skill set. Also, the Directors, Nick and Michelle are so supportive and knowledgeable”.
It’s doesn’t come as a surprise that the feeling is mutual, Director Michelle described working with Tracy as “An absolute joy.” Explaining that, “She fully embodies the relationship value of Niche Recruitment, her standards in terms of relationships are high and both clients and candidates value the personal touch she gives to her work. This is the Niche way, but it’s inherent in Tracy”.
With plans to continue building on her skills set, Tracy described her aims going into her second year at Niche, “I will be aiming to strengthen my relationship with clients and look forward to meeting new ones as we move into the new year”.
