An Interview With Lexxic Ltd’s Chief Operating Officer, Oliver Puttick

We recently took the opportunity to sit down with Oliver Puttick, Chief Operating Officer for Lexxic, to get his feedback on the service he has received from Niche Recruitment. We are thrilled to share this feedback with you.

Over the last 12 months we have filled 100% of the roles that Lexxic have asked us to support them with. It has been fantastic working with a business who are pioneers in supporting Neuro-diverse minds.

Going into its 16^th year, the company is going through substantial growth and has required Niche’s help on filling a variety of roles in the last 12 months. 

Why did Lexxic choose to work with Niche Recruitment? 

‘Honestly, we have tried to avoid using recruitment agencies in the past, simply from a cost perspective. However, we needed to recruit a number of Case Managers and found we were just going round and round in circles with candidates. So we called Niche Recruitment and now the team has placed multiple people within the company. 

We had heard great things about Niche Recruitment and some of the innovative recruitment tools they used to present talent and I was intrigued to find out more about their service offering.  

We have been really impressed throughout our time working with Niche, they have found some insanely strong candidates, who are all still doing really well and contributing to the growth of our business and all at a price point that matches other agencies we (Lexxic) have worked with.’  

As a result of partnering with Niche Recruitment over the past year, what stands out to you about Niche as an agency?  

Particularly your video interview technology, this has allowed us to completely eliminate the first stage interview and we were able to move straight to one stage interview, followed by the task stage of the process. This has been a massive time saver for us here at Lexxic and it is fantastic to see the candidates behind the CV. 

Niche Recruitment were able to interview candidates on our behalf (and with an agreed set of questions) so that they were really able to understand the candidates motivators and drivers to apply for the role with us here at Lexxic. Previously we would just receive CV’s but this technology enabled Niche to present candidates in a way that we felt we could really understand their suitability for the role. 

The quality of candidates has been the main thing we have been impressed with. We have the time-saving aspect of the process, but also the candidates have been much stronger than we have had from any other route. The impact to the business has been incredible and really helped facilitate the growth of our business, the candidates Niche have placed with us have been some of most successful hires in our business and they are all doing so well and really contributing’ 

Having previously worked with other recruitment agencies- What would you say sets Niche Recruitment apart? 

‘The candidates that Niche provided has really impressed us. They were able to really find candidates who had a passion and genuine interest in our business. Identifying candidates who had an initial interest in psychology and neurodiversity, supported with degrees and qualifications in this field. As a result, the candidates were able to really focus on why they wanted to work for us.  

Now that we are becoming a bigger organisation, we want people to be able to move across teams and progress with the company. The employees provided by Niche will be able to do that, due to their initial interest in the business.’ 

The other thing that really has impressed me is the professionalism and communication with have with all of the team at Niche. They were always available to answer any question I have, they worked very quickly to find me talent and I felt that they were able to provide really useful insight into the market and update me at all stages of our recruitment campaign.’

Would you say that as a team here at Niche, we took the time to build a strong B2B relationship with Lexxic? 

‘I cannot fault the relationship we have built with Niche throughout this time working together, we are continually getting the candidates we want and they have had a great impact on our business. 

The candidates who joined the business also have commented on how much they are enjoying the work hear at Lexxic. Everyone placed has come in with a really good understanding of the business, this is, in large part, to the way that they were ‘sold’ the original opportunity by Niche Recruitment. 

Niche took the time to really understand our business, values and culture, to help ensure the candidates they placed matched these. 

We have a 100% retention of the employees supplied by Niche, that’s due to you guys understanding the journey that we (Lexxic) are going. Which a massive period of growth.’ 

Was there a placement that really stood out to you as a success?  

‘Well, Niche have been able to supply various different roles, very quickly, with really strong candidates. One of our roles we thought that Niche would struggle with was our Data Protection Officer role. Yet they came up with the goods and found us a real needle in a haystack.  This was a particularly difficult but critical role to our business and Niche presented a candidate over video who absolutely nailed the brief in one.  

We were able to move really quickly on the candidate as the Video interview was superb and really highlighted what the candidate could bring to the role, both in terms of experience and team fit. We were able to secure the candidate quickly and he has been a fantastic addition to the team.’ 

Do you have any other comments regarding the services you received from us? 

‘Honestly, just keep doing what you’re doing. I want to mention the flexibility you’ve had. Niche has managed to cover vacancies of various degrees of difficulty and have always managed to hit the nail on the head with the candidates. 

Niche have really represented our organisation perfectly and are able to promote the benefits of Lexxic to candidates as an employer of choice and someone they want to work with. 

We have been really impressed with the service that Niche have provided throughout our partnership and working together. This, coupled with finding unique talent that has added value to our business!
