Lottie’s Niche Recruitment Candidate Journey

Are you on the fence about working with a recruitment agency after past experiences? It’s okay we won’t take it personally!- We know that recruitment agencies don’t always have the best reputations. However, here at Niche we do things differently.

Ensuring our candidates feel heard and supported is at the heart of everything we do. There’s nothing that makes us happier than seeing our candidates succeed. That’s why we are excited to share a recent candidate success story; allow us to introduce Charlotte!

Charlotte Walker (Lottie), is a recently placed Niche Recruitment candidate who registered with us after being approached by our Co-Director Michelle Graham on LinkedIn. As a result, Charlotte is now entering her second month as Content Designer at one of Swindon’s most established companies. Here is Lottie’s recruitment journey;

On The Hunt

Charlotte was working in digital marketing, when she decided that copywriting was her ideal career. Keen to follow her passion, Lottie had shortly begun exploring job opportunities when she was contacted by Niche marketing Recruiter Michelle with a copywriting job vacancy. Lottie explained that;

‘I’d been in touch with Michelle a while ago, and she knew I was originally looking for a copywriting role before I’d accepted the Digital Marketing position. Thankfully she kept me in mind and contacted me about my now-current Content Designer Role.’

Working With Niche

At first, Charlotte was apprehensive about working with a recruitment agency; she described that;

‘I have worked with recruitment agencies in the past. I haven’t had all bad experiences, but I have had a few, I won’t lie. I wouldn’t say I had reservations as such, but I do tend to keep in mind that some agencies don’t always listen to what a candidate wants.

However, she soon found Niche wasn’t a run-of-the-mill recruitment agency and felt fully ‘supported’ throughout the application process, describing that; ‘the application process was handled really well by Michelle. She was very supportive, and it really did seem like she wanted the best for me.’ She continued, explaining that ‘Michelle really focused on finding a role that worked for me, rather than moulding me to suit a role (an experience I’ve had with a different agency.)- It was a pleasure to work with her.’

That Job Offer Feeling

We’ve said it before, and we will say it again, going to our candidates with a job offer from a client is the best part of the job! Charlotte described her excited reaction to receiving the offer;

‘It seemed like such a perfect role for me. So when Michelle contacted me saying that they have decided to make me an offer…well I’ll just say that a fair bit of prosecco was consumed that night!’

Having just received her one-month probation review, Lottie explained how she’d settled into her new job role; ‘I’ve just had my one-month probation review and had some really great feedback from my line manager. Everyone is lovely, and there are so many development opportunities, which is amazing!’

Final Thoughts

‘The best recruitment agency I’ve worked with.’

Lottie Walker

To conclude our catch-up, Lottie explained her final thoughts on her experience as a Niche Recruitment candidate. She explained that Niche is ‘the best recruitment agency I’ve worked with; it was a great experience, and I couldn’t have asked for more. So a big thank you to Michelle, Amber and everyone at Niche Recruitment!’
