How to Identify a Scam and What to Do
We have been informed of a scam that is using our company name for phishing purposes. These scammers are claiming to be Niche Recruitment Recruiters and are sending messages via WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
Someone you don’t know contacts you unexpectedly. – Niche Recruitment and other recruitment agencies will not contact you out of the blue via text. We will only contact a candidate if you’re already known to us.
The message contains a clickable link- Don’t click or download anything you do not trust. Many scammers will send links to deceptive websites or malware. These are designed to trick you into sharing personal information that they can use.
The offer is exceptionally good- Scammers will attempt to make you an offer you can’t refuse, by suggesting a job role with extremely generous benefits and salaries.
The requesting of personal information- Scams will often ask you for personal information. Such as, PINs or passwords.
