Employee motivation is one of the hardest things to maintain during December and the run-up to Christmas. All businesses want to end the year on a high and, as it may already be a quiet time of year in some industries, targets still need to be met! As the end of the yearย approaches, employees tend to wind-down and productivity levels typically fall. How can you prevent this from happening and maintain employee focus? The Niche Recruitment team have put together 5 top tips to boost employee motivationย on the all-important run-up to Christmasโฆ
A โthank youโ goes a long way, whether itโs said or written! Showing your employees appreciation and gratitude for their hard work throughout the year will be well received. If itโs been a particularly good year, why not get your employees a little gift? It can be a real incentive and doesnโt have to be anything pricey, itโs the thought that counts!
Get into the Christmas spirit and encourage your employees to have fun! Decorating the office, having a fancy-dress day or Secret Santa can all increase employee engagement, motivation and improve moods.
December is an extremely busy month so allowing your employees flexibility with starting late or finishing early will be much appreciated. Employees with children may require time off to watch school plays or receive parcel deliveries so giving them the option to extend lunch breaks or work outside of officeย hours could help them balance it all.
Itโs a perfect time of year to reflect and think ahead towards the New Year.ย What are yourย businessโ aims and objectives? What do your employees personally want to achieve within their role and your business? Come together as a business and gather direct feedback from employees and evaluate what went well, what didnโt, and what needs to be improved next year.
Who doesnโt love food? Why not get together for a working lunch or a breakfast meeting? In the lastย couple of months,ย weโve had 4 new membersย join theย Niche team so itโs been important for us to take time away from our desks and get to know everyone!
